Poinsettia Saturnus Twist

“Let’s Twist!”, this Christmas flower must have thought!
Its velvety bracts are nicely curved and twisted, which gives the fancy variety a lovely cocky look.
Apart from this, ‘Saturnus Twist’ has the familiar excellent Poinsettia qualities. It is the ideal plant for adding a festive touch to the living room. By combining ‘SaturnusTwist’ with one of the many ornamental pots available, you are able to create a lovely display in any type of interior.

The scientific name of Christmas flower or Poinsettia is Euphorbia pulcherrima and the plant is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family (spurges). The bracts provide the plant with its colour. These are originally red but extensive breeding has led to pink, white, yellow, salmon pink and bicoloured varieties.
The numerous florets (cyathia) are small and yellow and located in the centre of the plant, in amongst the bracts.
Euphorbia pulcherrima is native to Central America and Mexico, where it can grow up to several metres in height. In the living room it is bound to remain of modest proportions but when cared for properly it will add colour to the house for several months.

Poinsettias are mainly available in November and December.

Put Poinsettia in the living room in a light position, out of direct sunlight. It is important to remember that Poinsettia does not tolerate draught.
Poinsettias prefer lukewarm water and regularly need some general plant food added to the water. The pot ball should be kept moderately moist.
Avoid moisture on the leaves as this may result in stains. When cared for properly, the plant will provide enjoyment for many months!

Avoid contact with the milky juice (latex) from the plant as this may cause irritation to skin and eyes.
If you have the room, why not place several Poinsettias together in a pot, basket or dish. The effect will be splendid!
